As a telemarketer I have a little secret I would like to share with my fellow phone sales brethren. Those call logs filled with sweepstakes leads that are given to you by your employer are completely useless. Technically, they are meant to be low quality because that is what your employer pays for. They expect you to make a minimum quota based off of each list, and they don’t care how you do that. Sheer luck means you can usually make that quota without too much trouble.
But what if you are wanting to make a decent commission? You have to make over the minimum to make any decent money, and there is no way you will do it with the general marketing data handed down by the average sales company. No, to get real results you have to take matters into your own hands. Luckily, it is easy to find high quality hard copy sweepstakes leads online. Each one is a unique list of recent data that gives you better numbers to try.
That doesn’t mean you will be able to rely completely on these list, because you obviously won’t be able to do that. But you will be capable of making better calls based on better targets. From there you can use your sales pitch as effectively as you would in any other sales situation, with the playing field evened out a bit for you. It may not sound like much, but believe it or not it will be a great help.
